Neurofeedback in Gaffney
Neurofeedback is exercise for the brain! At Ehlich Family Health and Wellness, we help the brain work more effectively by strengthening its ability to shift and change accurately, allowing it to function with more stability. Through careful assessment, our clinician defines which brain wave frequencies (the speed the brainwave is cycling at) need to be reinforced, and trains the brain to make those improvements—simply by watching a movie and playing on a computer screen.
The fun part is that your brain is what makes the movie play clearly. When your brainwaves do what we want them to do (i.e. making more of certain waves and less of others), the movie plays. When your brainwaves are not performing the way we want them to, the movie stops. The brain learns, very quickly, what it needs to do to make the movie play, and therefore exercises and strengthens its ability to function as you watch your favorite movie on DVD.
What Can It help?
Neurofeedback addresses problems of brain regulation, which can include:
- Anxiety/depression spectrum
- Attention deficit disorder
- Autism spectrum disorder
- Behavior disorders
- Cerebral palsy
- Emotional disturbances
- Headaches/migraines
- PMS
- Seizures
- Sleep disorders
The literature, which lacks any negative study of substance, suggests that EEG biofeedback (neurofeedback) therapy should play a major therapeutic role in many difficult areas. In my opinion if any medication had demonstrated such a wide spectrum of efficacy, it would be universally accepted and widely used.”

Head of the Neuroimaging Department and of Neuroimaging Research at Boston Children’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School Professor

How It Works
Neurofeedback is a drugless, natural, effective approach to healing. We work with individuals of all ages, including toddlers, children, adolescents and adults. Many athletes use it simply to optimize performance.
The process is painless. Sensors are applied to the scalp, and the patient simply watches a video or movie. The brain then takes over and does all the work to rebalance itself back to homeostasis.

Why Haven’t I Heard of It Before?
of Health lists more than 8,500 peer-reviewed publications in biofeedback, 450 in neurofeedback and 130,000 scientific publications on EEG, but Neurofeedback is not yet taught in most medical schools or psychology graduate programs. Many professionals are therefore unaware of the power of this technique. The field is growing rapidly, though, and more professionals will be informed and educated in this life-changing technology.
